Nokia 4.2 Review

The 4.2 is a rather new phone and was launched in 2019. We love the way it looks – it oozes luxury.

It rocks a thin glass rear. The glass is strong, so good luck trying to scratch it. How thin is it? The following are its dimensions, 149 mm x 71.3 mm x 8.4 mm.

As it’s made from glass, it’s slippery. The handset collects a lot of fingerprints too.

The material on its frame sadly doesn’t feel the most premium. It is plastic.

The device is not small or big. Its screen stretches 5.71 inches across. Looking across its sides, you’ll find a fingerprint sensor on its rear. It’s right underneath its camera set-up, so it’s easy to reach.

Let’s talk about its screen. There is an IPS LCD panel in place. If you’ve read our reviews before, you’d know that it doesn’t produce the most vibrant colours. As its screen isn’t the biggest, immersing in whatever you’re watching would be hard.

The device has a good screen-to-body ratio, though. It is 76.6%. It results in not that much bezel action going on.

Its pixel resolution is 720 x 1520 pixels. You won’t notice blurriness even if you look closely.

Out of the box, it runs Android 9. Android 11 is around these days. We’re happy to say that you can upgrade its systems to this.

The chipset housed isn’t the best. How do you feel about the Snapdragon 439? Overworking it would cause its systems to lag.

You can pick it up with either 2 or 3 GB of RAM. With 3 GB of memory, force closing won’t be an issue. It would for 2 gigs, though.

The phone comes with a microSD slot. However, you can pick it up with either 16 or 32 GB of space. With the 16 GB ROM variant, its insides would be full in around a month.

Battery wise, a 3000 mAh unit was placed. The Nokia 4.2 fully drains in a little over a day. The battery is sadly non removable. You’ll be using a 10 W regular charger on it.

We’re fans of the cameras Nokia produces. The 4.2 is no exception. It has a 13 MP primary sensor along with a 2 MP secondary depth sensor. It takes decent shots even in low light.

On its front, a single 8 MP sensor is present.

Here’s what you came for – you’ll be able to purchase the mobile for around Rs.25,000 – 34,000 islandwide.
