class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The handset stretches <strong>5.71 inches<\/strong> across. If you have smaller hands, you won\u2019t have any trouble picking it up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It isn\u2019t very heavy. It comes in at <strong>146 grams<\/strong>. Cheaper devices should have heft \u2013 they\u2019d feel more premium. But its Amber Brown variant makes it look like a million bucks and it has a faux leather back. You usually don\u2019t see such a colour on phones either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Y5\u2019s other variants rock plastic. Their rears have a glossy finish to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device is not the slimmest \u2013 its dimensions are 147.1 x 70.8 x 8.5 mm. Unfortunately won\u2019t see a fingerprint sensor on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The handset has easy-to-reach buttons. They also feel great underneath your fingers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We mentioned that it comes in brown and countless other shades. You may be wondering what they exactly are. They are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Midnight Black<\/li><li>Modern Black<\/li><li>Sapphire Blue<\/li><li>Amber Brown<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a MicroSD slot and headphone jack of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tab-con-12\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Display\"><\/span>Display<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Y5 doesn\u2019t come with the most vibrant screen. You\u2019re met with an &nbsp;<strong>IPS LCD<\/strong> display. Although the panel doesn\u2019t produce the best colours, it\u2019s known to be sharp. Speaking of sharpness, you\u2019re getting a <strong>720 x 1520<\/strong> Pixel screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its screen-to-body ratio is not that good. It\u2019s only <strong>78.1%.<\/strong> There\u2019s considerable bezel action, but you don\u2019t get a very large notch. It\u2019s a water-drop, and you can disable it through the phone\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You probably shouldn\u2019t get too rough with it \u2013 its screen is regular strengthened glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Something surprising is that its display is kind of bright. It can easily handle the outdoors at max brightness. There\u2019s also very little distortion when you use it at angles. &nbsp;Unfortunately, there\u2019s a blue tint to it. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/phoneekak.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Review-Huawei-Y5-2019.jpg\" alt=\"Review - Huawei Y5\" width=\"540\" height=\"303\" title=\"Review - Huawei Y5\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tab-con-14\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Battery\"><\/span>Battery<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although thick, the handset doesn\u2019t host a large battery. The unit inside is <strong>3020 mAh<\/strong>. As the phone is plastic and affordable, you may be wondering if you can remove its battery \u2013 this is not the case. It will last a day when fully charged. It doesn\u2019t offer the most extensive power saving modes, so you won\u2019t be able to prolong its battery for long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t usually see phones this cheap with fast charging. No surprise, the Y5 utilizes 10 W regular charging. It takes over 2 hours to go from 0-100%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tab-con-14\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Performance\"><\/span>Performance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to the Y5 (2018), it has a better processor. It comes with the <strong>Helio A22<\/strong>, while its predecessor rocked a Mediatek MT6739 unit. That being said, its processor still isn\u2019t good. It lags and can\u2019t handle extensive tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only is its processor bad, but so is the RAM available. You can pick it up with 2 GB of it, and 16 or 32 GB of space. Its limited RAM will force close apps when many are running in the background. Its storage options aren\u2019t enough \u2013 you\u2019ll be happy to know that you can expand them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the box, you\u2019re met with Android 9. If you\u2019re wondering about Android 10, know that the update is in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It runs EMUI like its Huawei counterparts \u2013 you\u2019ll meet EMUI 9.1. It\u2019s super customizable, but you won\u2019t get an app drawer. This is something seen across Huawei phones. Many have issues with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"tab-con-15\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Camera\"><\/span>Camera<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of its back camera, you\u2019re getting a single shooter. It is a 13 MP sensor and is quite good, outdoors at least. It takes realistic shots with a bit of saturation. We\u2019re surprised that it doesn\u2019t get aggressive with it. The true cherry on top is its <strong>pro mode<\/strong> You don\u2019t see such a thing from phones its price \u2013 it lets you take full control of shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its front camera is a 5 MP lens. It\u2019s not worth writing home about. However, its beauty mode is really good. It surprised us as well, it did not make us look artificial. It came out this year. It\u2019s smaller, though. You\u2019re looking at a <strong>5.45-inch<\/strong> device. It weighs a bit less too. Like its counterpart, it comes with a plastic back. It\u2019s glossy as well. No, it doesn\u2019t have a variant with faux leather back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has an <strong>IPS LCD<\/strong> screen \u2013 as you know, this means that it\u2019s not very vibrant. Unfortunately, it comes with a screen-to-body ratio that\u2019s worse than the Y5\u2019s. It is <strong>73.8%.<\/strong> Not only are you getting considerable bezel action<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re wondering about its screen resolution, know that it\u2019s <strong>720 x 1440 pixels<\/strong>. It\u2019s not as sharp as its counterpart\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/phoneekak.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Huawei-Y5p-Sri-Lanka.jpg\" alt=\"Huawei Y5p - Sri Lanka\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" title=\"Huawei Y5p - Sri Lanka\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The device runs Android 10 out of the box. You\u2019re met with EMUI 10.1, which is based on it. We\u2019ve got some bad news for you \u2013 there is no Google Play Services. You\u2019ve probably heard about the US\u2019 restriction on Chinese tech companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its processor is the <strong>Helio P22<\/strong>. Compared to the A22, it is <a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/nanoreview.net\/en\/soc-compare\/mediatek-helio-p22-vs-mediatek-helio-a22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">more powerful<\/a>. But at the end of the day, it\u2019s still not very good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can pick the Y5p in one memory variant. It is 32 GB of space with 2 GB of RAM. You can expand its storage if you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Battery-wise, you\u2019re met with a familiar unit. It is <strong>3020 mAh<\/strong>. However, it lasts a bit longer than the Y5\u2019s. No, you can\u2019t take it out of its back. To charge the phone, you\u2019ll be utilizing 10W regular charging. It takes over 2 hours to go from 0-100%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The camera on its back is an 8 MP wide lens. Its front camera is 5 MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Samsung_Galaxy_A01\"><\/span>Samsung Galaxy A01<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The handset is pretty much the <strong>same size<\/strong> as the Y5. It weighs a bit more, though. Like the Huawei device, it rocks a plastic body. It doesn\u2019t have a glossy finish to it and looks more metallic. This is especially true in its red variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a <strong>PLS TFT<\/strong> screen. It works similarly to an IPS LCD but is sharper. Speaking of sharpness, you\u2019re met with the same screen resolution as in the Y5. Something else that\u2019s similar is screen-to-body ratios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the box, you are getting Android 10. We\u2019re huge fans of Samsung\u2019s One UI. It\u2019s more pleasing to the eye than EMUI. It\u2019s not as customizable, though. In terms of its processor, a <strong>Snapdragon 439<\/strong> chip is present. It\u2019s <a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/versus.com\/en\/mediatek-helio-a22-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-439\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">superior to the<\/a> Helio A22 in the Huawei phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/phoneekak.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Samsung-Galaxy-A01-Sri-Lanka.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung Galaxy A01 - Sri Lanka\" title=\"Samsung Galaxy A01 - Sri Lanka\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t come with an array of memory variants. You\u2019re met with 16 and 32 GB of space, along with 2 GB of RAM. Yes, you can expand its storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its battery is a bit smaller than its counterpart\u2019s. That being said, it lasts about the same time. It\u2019s non-removable and you\u2019ll be using 10 W regular charging. The device takes over 2 hours to go from 0-100%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a dual set-up on its rear. Its primary camera is a 13 MP wide lens while its secondary camera is a 2 MP depth sensor. Its front camera is 5 MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Xiaomi_Redmi_6\"><\/span>Xiaomi Redmi 6<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019re looking at an older device \u2013 the Redmi 6 was released in 2018. Its back is made from plastic too. It is small. It comes in at <strong>5.45 inches<\/strong>. Weight-wise, it weighs as much as the Y5. Its back isn\u2019t very glossy. It\u2019s got a metallic look to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its screen resolution is not that good. You\u2019re met with a <strong>720 x 1440 pixel<\/strong> front. Something else that\u2019s not as good, is its screen-to-body ratio, it is <strong>72.7%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device runs Android 8.1 out of the box. &nbsp;Unfortunately, you can\u2019t update it to Android 10. The processor it hosts is the <strong>Helio P22<\/strong>. It beats the A22. If you remember, we saw it in our Huawei Y5p review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UI inside is MIUI 11. It\u2019s super customizable, but you don\u2019t get an app drawer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/phoneekak.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Xiaomi-Redmi-6-Sri-Lanka.jpg\" alt=\"Xiaomi Redmi 6 - Sri Lanka\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" title=\"Xiaomi Redmi 6 - Sri Lanka\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Storage-wise, you\u2019re met with really good options. You can pick the phone up in 32 and 64 GB of space. Along with it, 3 and 4 GB of RAM is available. Although you get quite a bit of storage, you can still expand its memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its battery isn\u2019t that good. It is <strong>3000 mAh<\/strong>, like the entry above. It lasts as long as it too. To charge the phone, you will be using a 10 W regular charger. As you know, this means it takes a long time to charge. We found it is like the rest, taking over 2 hours.
