Oppo A12 Review

The A12 is a big phone. Its screen stretches 6.22 inches across. If you have smaller hands, holding it might be hard. The handset is not only big but thin. Its dimensions are 155.9 mm x 75.5 mm x 8.3 mm.

It’s got a bit of weight to it at 165 grams. The more weight a phone has, the more premium it’ll feel. This is what you want to hear when purchasing a budget mobile.

The A12 is made from plastic. We don’t think it’s the most high-quality type; you can feel that it isn’t expensive.

It’s not super ergonomic, but your palms won’t be sore after holding it.

It comes with a MicroSD slot and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The presence of the MicroSD slot is appreciated as it already comes with decent ROM.

There is a fingerprint sensor on its rear, which is easy to reach. Is it super snappy? Not really, but you’re not looking at an expensive phone.

The panel on its front is IPS LCD. The panel type isn’t vibrant. You’re getting a good screen-to-body ratio, though, it is 82%.

It’s not pin-sharp. However, you won’t notice any pixelation unless you look closely. It comes with a 720 x 1520 pixel resolution.

Out of the box, it runs Android 9. We’re happy to say that its systems can be upgraded to Android 10. The manufacturer says that you can upgrade it to Android 11 when the update is ready too.

Android 9 is available through Color OS. The UI is extremely customizable. There are many themes for you to play with.

What about ROM? You can pick it up with either 32 or 64 GB of space. You’re getting either 3 or 4GB of RAM. Moving through its systems would be a breeze.

The chipset it houses is the Helio P35. It’s far from flagship worthy. That being said, it can handle extensive tasks.

The battery inside it is nonremovable. It is a 4230 mAh unit and you can expect it to last a little over a day. To charge the mobile, you’ll be using a micro USB port. You’ll have to insert a 10 W regular charger into it. Because of this, it doesn’t fast charge. It’ll go from 0-100% in over 2 hours.

Camera-wise, there is a dual set-up on its rear which consists of a 13 MP wide lens and a 2 MP depth one. Shots aren’t vibrant. They’re especially not good in dim-lit settings. On its front, a 5 MP single shooter is present.

It comes with a bright LED flash on its back. Unfortunately, there isn’t one on its front.

Now:

What you came here for, its price – you can pick it up for around Rs.26,000 to 28,000 islandwide.
